Creative Ops—Traffic Manager

The main objective of this role is to ensure that all creative project work flows efficiently and correctly between the creative, account management and production departments. This is a very fast-paced role responsible for keeping creative teams on task and projects on deadline, handling logistics and keeping all parties updated.

The Traffic Manager is an even-keeled, assertive multi-tasker who keeps things running smoothly. This person must have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and be able to keep calm under pressure.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 3–5 years of resource/traffic management experience; advertising agency experience preferred

  • In-depth understanding of print production, digital production and broadcast production work flows as well as creative skill sets

  • Experience in Google Drive and project management software

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop a plus

  • Strong work ethic, an eye for detail and problem-solving skills  

  • People-person capable of building positive relationships and trust across departments

  • Strong decision-making, prioritization and time management skills are essential

  • Prior success working with a team in a collaborative environment

A Day in the Life:

  • Meets with account management teams each morning to discuss the deliverables for the day and to assess incoming projects and client requests.

  • Constant communication with creative teams to discuss deliveries for the day and ensure they have all information needed to complete tasks.

  • Creates and maintains detailed schedules, in conjunction with producers and Creative Resource Manager, and sets deadlines for project deliverables. Schedules are maintained in Basecamp/Workamajig.

  • Works closely with Creative Resource Manager to manage allocation of hours based on project scopes and to ensure projects are completed on time. Communicates any possible issues with workloads and timing requests.

  • Opens and maintains job files on Google Drive and project management software.

  • Attends all status meetings, briefings and internal creative reviews.

  • Works with freelancers and contractors to ensure they have the resources needed for their projects.

  • Ensures all facets of Creative Q&A (Proofreading, Business Affairs, Art Buying) have been completed prior to delivery.

  • Day does not end until all delivery goals have been met.
